Final Week

Alright, so this week is pretty awesome. We were able to go out to the areas and go tracking. It was really scary, there's lots of dogs on the street and i totally forgot how to interact with humans at this point haha. though we were able to go to a cita or visit and it was with a woman named Sophia and she had 2 grand kids living with her. She has only met with the missionaries once or twice. She was unable to read very good and she works long hours. She wakes up at 1 in the morning and starts cooking breakfast to sell and she sells breakfast till 12 in the afternoon. She devotes a lot of time to provide for her family, now her home is a garage just a cement wall cement floor. now as we were sharing our message we invited her to read the book of Mormon. She responded that she can't read very good but she will try and have her grand kids help her, and the missionary we were with felt prompted to promise her that if she read the book of Mormon she would be able to read and it was very powerful. The Spirit was so strong and it was an amazing opportunity to meet with real people.

It was an awesome with the trio, we taught a lesson this week and we felt the spirit so strongly there even though it was just a practice visit, we all testified and had a plan but i know that through planning and study we are able to teach by the power of the holy ghost. also today is a sad day because its our last time to visit the temple for 2 years so it was just a special experience with the trio its a very sad week, but also exciting at the same time. I'm thankful for everything for all of you and grateful to be a Missionary of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I'm so grateful for President Nelson and the first presidency.

I'm so excited for the things to come!!!

Feb 13, 2019

I had really awesome experience this week we had latino roommates who are awesome and we love them so much. One of the Elders, Elder Cruz, gave me a tie and he said that it was his brothers who had died a year ago. He didn't know why but the first day he saw me he just knew that there is something special about me and that he really wanted to give me this tie. It was such a spiritual and emotional time. haha. I love going to the temple and actually having a purpose to going. but my favorite thing so far is scripture study. If we ever find time because being set apart as a missionary is so different when you read its amazing. Other than that nothing too exciting has happened to me besides being assigned to be district leader the last 3 weeks of the MTC/CCM. I'm running out of time because we had problems with the computers and we barely have anytime. But I know I am very grateful to be called and set apart as an Elder of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I have seen the truthfulness of the gospel bless those around me. I'm grateful to serve the Lord and learn so much. Also I know that I need to do better at writing emails with a lot more info but in the CCM they're very strict on time and I apologize.

2 weeks Down! Feb. 6, 2019

Well you heard correct its already been 2 weeks! just have 4 more till I'm finished in the CCM. I'll be honest -- I totally thought the CCM was going to be a cake walk, but boy was i wrong about that. I get more sleep here at night than i did back home, but i am so tired all of the time because from 6:30 in the morning till 10:30 at night we are always learning, moving, staying busy. So that was a big big shock to me lol, Mentally and spiritually it breaks you down, because you thought you knew but nope, you were wrong.

We have listened to 3-4 MTC devotionals from Elders Holland, Bednar, and Stevenson. They were such powerful talks especially elder Holland. He loves the missionaries so much and he does not hold back anything because of his love for us. It's a really special experience to be set apart as a missionary of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. The spirit is more direct especially as we bear testimony of the gospel. i would invite you all to search ponder and pray to know how you can more effectively invite the spirit into your lives. Because i know that i have been so blessed in my life to know gospel truths. Because the gospel really does bless individuals and families and i am grateful for the experiences in my life that have prepared me for my mission.

Today we got to go the temple which was an amazing experience as usual but this time was especially amazing and i am grateful for the spirit that I felt today. My companionship had our first lesson with a fake investigator (our teacher) but it was awesome, the spirit was strong and the Spanish was terrible haha. but it was an awesome experience to have. We put a lot of time and energy into the lesson and we still are waiting for feedback from our teacher. i cant wait to come home as a Returned Missionary it'll be awesome! I'm still getting used to email so bear with me because everything i wanted to say leaves my head when i sit down and start typing haha. Also i saw some scaffolding today so i thought I'd throw that in there for my old coworkers haha. Love you all and email you next Wednesday!

I'm here @ the CCM alive and well!! Jan. 30, 2019

Thanks for all the emails and i added all of the people to the list that emailed me about that haha. so my flight was a 5hr and 30min flight to Atlanta and then a 4 hr layover, then it was a 7hr 25min flight to lima and we got in about 12:30. and by the time we got settle at the CCM, it was probably 3:30. and the next day it was getting to work with so many classes and work to do to learn Spanish and advance our understanding in El Evangelio (the gospel), and that when we become missionaries we change our focus to christ. it's been an awesome experience here to gain a greater testimony of the gospel. i feel very lucky for the district that i have, everyone gets along well so far, and we all help each other so much when it comes to learning the language. I've met a few handfuls of peruvians so far and they are some of the nicest people ever i love it. latinos in general are just awesome i love them. oh i should mention my companions haha,  yah companions

I'm in a trio! Which is pretty cool, one of my companions name is Elder Hurst and he's from Oregon and he'll be serving in my mission in Iquitos, and my other companion is Elder Smith and he is from California and he'll be serving in Cusco. i am running out of time but i just want to let you all know that i love you and President Nelson loves and our Father in Heaven loves you, and i know that Christ loves you too. I'm Grateful to be called to serve a mission to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ. I know that i can successfully serve a mission because the Church of Jesus Christ is true, cant wait till next Wednesday, hopefully I'll be better prepared to email. I'm alive and well and loving it here!
